Yes, FYI most of the DELL Latitude D600 were used as corporate Notebook PCs and the Government in their prime and though older, they still function fine and work very well for the majority of today's needs. In fact I own 3 DELL Notebook PCs: Inspiron E1505/6400, Latitude D620 and also one similar to the D600 you are looking at i.e.17" Latitude D800 (little too big to carry around) and if I were in your shoes, hopefully you are no paying more than $300 to $350 bec one important element you did not mention was the system MEMORY <= my wife's corporate D600 she used for 3 years had only 512MB memory but the one D800 I bought used came with nice equipped with 1GB memory, and if it only has 256MB, that is way too slow and even my 2 kids would never play online games with such a Notebook <= I know bec my 1st Notebook PC was a Gateway Pentium IV with only 256MB and I would always tinker with it trying to match my wife's D600 until I sold it and replaced it with the D800.
And the other MAJOR FACTOR you didn't mention was "What Price You are paying?" bec their is a nationwide Retailer called INK STOP that has been advertising & selling these DELL Latitude D600 for $399.99 plus tax in their sales circular though most likely would not have scuff marks plus if something went wrong, looking at their ad in front of me it comes with a 90 day hardware warranty <= my guess is if something went wrong then the retailer INK STOP would simply swap/exchange D600s and send defective one back to his supplier bec that supplier is furnishing all his stores.
Hope the Above Info Helps and Best of Luck!
Canon announces EOS-1D X: full-frame 18MP sensor, 14 fps, 204,800 top ISO, $6,800 price tag (Engadget)
Stick a piece of gaffer tape over the unmistakable X, and Canon's latest EOS-
1D pro-level camera will look virtually identical to every 1D model that came
before it. But once you flip up the power slider, this new king of the jungle
will hum like no other. Canon's phenomenally powerful EOS-1D X really sounds
like the DSLR to rule them all. Its 18 megapixel full-frame sensor uses
oversized pixels to battle noise and is supported by a pair of Digic 5+
imaging processors, which also help drive a 61-point high density reticular AF
system, a top ISO setting of 204,000 (51,200 native), a 252-zone metering
system, a 14 fps JPEG (or 12 fps RAW) burst mode and a built-in wired gigabit
LAN connection, for remote shooting and image transfer. The camera's curious
single-letter name represents a trio of industry milestones: the X is the 10th
generation Canon professional SLR (dating back to the F1 in the 1970s), it's a
crossover model, filling in for both the 1D Mark IV and 1Ds Mark III (which
has been discontinued), and, well, it sounds to be pretty darn "Xtreme."
The 1D X is being marketed to ...
