Making Duvet Covers
Are you thinking of making your own duvet cover? Then you are just the right person to read this article. Just take a note pad and a pen and read through this article right to the end.
The question on how to make duvet covers can be answered in a variety of ways. I will choose one of many alternatives that you can employ as soon as you are done reading. Here is the first thing you need to do, you need to select the fabric you intend to use. You will also have to take some measurements i.e. you will have to measure the length and the width. Now here is what I suggest you do. Make sure that you pick a washable fabric that could also double as a home decorator. I suggest you go for a lightweight fabric that will feel comfortable. Of course you need to take the weather and climatic conditions of your area into consideration.
Now you need to choose two lengths of fabric that should be about 54 inches wide. You can even make it a bit wider. You will be using these for the front part. Make sure that each of the panels is equal to the length measurement discussed above.
-Find home decorator fabrics. These should be about 54 inches wide that is able to cover a duvet cover to 104 inches wide. Chances are your duvet is wider. In this case simply buy another panel of fabric for each of the duvet sides.
-Now you must think about patterns and prints that you like. You may need to do some variations based on the prints to use. for instance, you may have to elongate your panels.
-Prewash and iron the fabric.
-Now simply fold the front panel in half lengthwise.
-You may need to use an iron to make some sharp creases at the folds. Once you’ve done the ironing you may then unfold the fabric.
-Do this to the back panels as well.
-Now you need to draw a line that goes down the length of the crease on the panel. You will need a fabric marking pen and a yard stick for this task.
-Cut out each line to make six panels. That is, 3 shall be for the back and three for the front of the duvet cover.
-Once you have done all that the other thing to do on how to make duvet covers is to just pin one panel that’s narrow to one side of the visible side or front rather that is still uncut. Make sure that is it is pinned such that all fabric edges are lined up & the sides of the fabric are also together.
These tips provided above should be enough for you to create your own duvet cover. Yes there might be a few more steps to go but then it is all up to you how you want to wrap it all up and make one that will suite just your taste and style.

can the plastic cover of the control panel on a stove can be replaced?
i have a black kenmore stove and my dumb self sprayed easy-off on the plastic cover of the control panel and when i went to clean it, along with the grease that came off, so did the color!!! now it is a faded black instead of a glossy black. nothing happened to the control panel, thank God. i wanted to now if i can order that part and just replace it, instead of having to look at my 5-month old stove, like its 10 YEARS old. please help!! if it can be replaced, i don't know were to start looking for the replacement.
Remove the knobs and mask off the areas you don,t want painted. Then buy some high gloss black appliance spray paint. It will look like new. Of course you will have to prepare the area to be painted properly first. Lightly sand it with fine steel wool. I think you will be surprised how good it looks. Most hardware sell appliance paint. If you must replace it go to sears and order another one . Kenmore is sold at sears.
