Samsung CLX 2160N - Print Lickety-Split So You Don't Have To Hold Up
Compact style- The Samsung CLX 2160N printer is the smallest multi function laser printer on the market measuring a mere 16x14x13 inches and weighing in at a rather heavy 37 Pounds. The machine although small in size, is big in value considering that most multi-function laser's retail for US$ 500+ while this cute little grafter is a very affordable US$380.00. The printer is ideal for clutter-free spaces where small footprint is required. The best toner for this printer is the CLX 2160N printer toner cartridge.
Print quality- If average print quality is required, the printer is ideal for you. Overall print quality is nothing more than okay. Text prints are fat and chunky with uneven edges. Photo print quality is awful with image fuzziness and no clear detail. Text over colour printing is smudged or blemished. The only real eye catching thing to prints is the wonderful bright ink colours and quality at 2400x600 resolutions. Excellent quality ink means nothing if the print quality is pathetic. Photo prints are produced at 4 pages per minute and text or graphics prints at 16 pages per minute. Almost no warm-up time is required with first page text prints popping out under 18 seconds and colour 26 seconds. The copier feature works like a dream with super quick 16 pages per minute black and white and 4 pages per minute colour copying. However the copies themselves especially of photo's are of the same quality as normal prints, not good.
Media sizes and types- The printer is not fussy at all, when it comes to paper types, accepting plain, glossy, recycled and pre-punched paper, envelopes and cards, no mess or fuss. The maximum paper size accepted by machine is legal. A big con to the printer is its very, very limited paper tray capacity of 150 sheet.
Systems- All major operating systems are compatible with the printer including Windows, Apple Mac and Linux. This is good news for especially Apple Mac users who often encounter system and printer compatibility problems.
Manufacturers warranty- A twelve month manufacturers warranty covering printer service comes standard with the deal. Keep in mind that labour and parts coverage by warranty is very limited with terms and conditions applicable. Please use only genuine Samsung parts, consumables and service agents as any unauthorized workmanship, parts or consumables can lead to voidance of your warranty.
Connections- The printer comes standard with the latest interface technology in the form of USB 2.0 as well as Ethernet 10/100 Base TX connectivity. USB cable is not included so make sure that you order yours well in advance to enable you to connect and use your printer immediately after setup.
Common problem encountered- A very common problem encountered with the printer is paper jamming. This is a very time consuming problem to fix as the printer often requires total dismantlement to fix a jam. Tray over or under loading is usually the culprit causing a jam.
Toner- Starter Samsung CLX 2160N printer cartridge is included with your purchase, with an estimated 1500 black and 700 colour page print capacity. Replacement CLX 2160N printer toner cartridge have a 2000 page black and 1000 page colour capacity. Machine consumables are four toner drums, waste toner bottle and image unit.
Washing non-glossy walls?
Im moving out of my apartment in a week and have to wash the walls. The walls in the living room are non-glossy, I tried once to wash them with a mild soapy water and it seemed to stain the wall. So now theres a big streak on the wall from trying to wash it.
Any tips?
Flat paint you can not wash and most apartments us flat paint. Semi gloss paint you can wash and high gloss you can wash. It is a pain and you would be better painting it.
